Several consumers report being targeted by what appear to be advance fee loan scams. These apparent scams use variations of the name “USA Payday Loans.” One Washington State consumer reports that he received a phone call from a man who claimed to work for http://usapaydayloans.info . The caller offered the consumer a $3,000 loan if he first paid a fee via prepaid card. After the consumer paid the fee, various representatives of USA Payday Loans demanded additional fees. In total, the consumer paid $1,102 in fees and did not receive the loan.DFI received phone records from the company providing phone service to USA Payday Loans. Those records suggest that the individuals operating USA Payday Loans are in India.

Another Washington consumer reported being contacted by a representative claiming to work for USA Payday Loan Services. The caller left a message for the consumer stating that the consumer’s application for a payday loan was approved, and to call back as soon as possible in order to transfer the loan funds into the consumer’s account. The consumer indicated to DFI that she did not apply for a payday loan through this company.
